I studied Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University, graduating in 2007.
I would describe myself as a romantic landscape painter, in the 'Turner' mould.

J.M.Turner is my biggest artistic inspiration, Turner's use of colour and texture and his unique ability to capture atmosphere and drama in his paintings never fails to impress me. Turner's work, although 150 years old, still looks fresh and modern today; I try to instil in my work similar qualities.

I've visited places where Turner painted and tried to produce my own versions of views the Turner would have been attracted to, in places such as the Lake District, Kent and more recently Venice.

Although I'm predominantly a landscape painter, I do forays into seascapes, cityscapes and figurative painting.
